City Day in Veliky Novgorod is celebrated at the same time as the Day of Russia - June 12. Solemn events dedicated to this event last for several days, in 2012 they will begin on June 10. As part of the celebration of the City Day, various festivals, competitions, exhibitions and concerts are traditionally held.

The main events are usually held on the first day off, that is, on June 10 this year. Celebrations last all day and cover the whole city. In the morning, from the Yaroslavov Dvorishche to the Victory Square, the teams taking part in the festival are passing by. Then festivals, competitions and concerts will be held on Sofiyskaya Square, in the Kremlin, the Kremlin Park, Yaroslav's Court, in front of the shopping center Diez, on the City Beach and the territory of the Track Palace of Catherine II.

Many creative workshops, shopping arcades . In the evening, the musical show "Novgorod Veche" will take place in the Kremlin tower of Kokui, and the holiday will end with a grandiose salute over the Volkhov River.
