Many residents of Krasnodar love to celebrate the New Year not at home in front of the TV, but on the main square of the city. It ends Krasnaya Street, which on non-working days turns into a pedestrian street. On the Theater Square during all holidays there are major New Year and Christmas entertainment events.

They begin with the solemn opening of the city tree, usually on December 30th. Various creative teams of the city take part in the performance and concert. Until then, on December 24, lights on New Year trees in the parks and districts of the city are lit.

The New Year's Eve is scheduled for the evening of December 31, at 22:30 or a little later. Townspeople gather at the Theater Square to watch a theatrical performance in honor of the holiday. Closer to midnight, the mayor comes to the stage and congratulates all those present.

And exactly at 00:00 begins already traditional fireworks that have become traditional. All this time Krasnodar and guests of the city are having fun, treating each other champagne and sweets, and after the salute (it lasts not less than 20 minutes), they go to their homes, clubs, restaurants, etc.
