Vorontsov Palace Park

At the Vorontsov Palace there is a park - a beautiful monument of landscape art, founded about 200 years ago, which includes more than 200 species of trees and shrubs from around the world. One of the attractions of the park is "Chaos" - a heap of gray-green stone blocks of diabase in height from a four-story house.

The park ensemble consists of the Upper and Lower Landscape Parks. The upper park, known as the "Alupka chaos" is an array of natural diabase, granite blocks, like chaotically scattered elements, caves with grottoes and the crater of an extinct volcano. The stern landscapes of the stone are softened by the views of the wonderful gentle avenues of the Lower Park. The airy and terrace-like terraces are fringed with unusual and exotic Italian pine trees.

The park was created according to the idea of the German gardener Karl Kebach, who harmoniously combined here the achievements and delights of Italian and French landscape art. The wizard Kebah competently used every meter of the given field of activity, erecting cascades from fountains, ponds, lakes, planting rare plants that were delivered from different countries to chernozem, which was specially delivered to Alupka from Ukraine.

The park is remarkable primarily for its unusual accents and romantic names: the Tea Pavilion, the Swan Lake, the Maria Fountain, which is a copy of the Bakhchsarai Fountain, decorated with white roses at the base, the Frayschutz Falls, whose streams are cut in a way that resembles the bride's veil, , Platanovaya, Chestnut and Contrast Glades of Upper Park.

The mystery of the whole palace ensemble is given by the fact that Mikhail Vorontsov, like many famous and influential figures of his time, belonged to the Masonic lodge. Therefore, in his residence, in the chambers and in the park, there are numerous secret signs and symbols, characteristic for the architecture and decoration of the most powerful brotherhood. So, if you have already visited the Vorontsov Palace several times, on your next trip, arrange a thematic excursion dedicated to the secret of Vorontsov.

To come to the Crimea and not to visit the Vorontsov Palace is an inexcusable oversight. It is in Alupka, and from any point of the South Coast it is very convenient to get there, there is a pile of minibuses. But there is another way to get to the palace, the more romantic it is to take the boat. And although this way is a bit longer in time, but impressions from contemplation of picturesque pictures of the Crimean coast will be unforgettable. A ticket from Yalta to Alupka will cost 70 hryvnia, but it's worth it. Very nice view of the Vorontsov ... Read full review

In the Vorontsov Palace we visited during a fascinating tour of the Crimea. Suddenly we decided to visit Alupka to visit this palace, which was built in several architectural styles. At that time, while our friend was buying sightseeing tickets for us, we, being in the courtyard, looked up at the battlements of Mount Ai-Petri and photographed them using an optical zoom. The Vorontsov Palace was located in a beautiful place - between the sea and one of the biggest mountains of the Crimean ridge.
And here it was ... Read the whole review

We spent the whole day on the trip to the Vorontsov Palace and did the right thing, because next to the palace there is a large park with a lot of strange trees and ponds in which goldfish swim and white swans dwell peacefully. I really wanted to be photographed with a wand, I had to disturb her sleep and as luck would have sat the batteries at the camera. I had to buy a set directly from the merchant in the park. The price, by the way is overestimated twice, so do not buy in such places souvenirs and other small things. I liked ... Read the whole review

Earlier with my family we often went to the Crimea, and each time visited some sights. It is worth saying that I have not seen much. That summer we went to the Crimea with my husband and the most impressive excursion was a tour of the Big Yalta, which began at 6 am and ended at 10 pm, tired, but it was worth it. During this excursion we visited Vorontsov's palace in Alupka. The summer residence of Count Vorontsov, executed in the same style as the buildings of the St. Petersburg period, with a grand scale and splendor .... Read the entire review

Resting in Alupka, I simply could not afford not to visit all the famous Vorontsov Palace. Especially the cost of the tour is not high, and the park can be walked for free. When you approach the building you can feel its greatness, the beauty of architecture is amazing. The location of the palace is just perfect, as it offers magnificent views from one side to Ai Petri, and on the other side to the sea. The palace is surrounded by a magnificent park, which is famous for its splendor. In hot weather ... Read full review

In Alupka visited one of the wonderful and beautiful places in the Crimea - the Vorontsov Palace. I've been here several times, but in the summer the beauty of this place can not be conveyed in words. The palace was designed by an English architect. When we were in the courtyard, we waited while our excursion group was formed, I admired the beautiful views of Mount Ai-Petri. From this place you can see its teeth. And when the day is sunny, the mountain looks very beautiful. During our excursion, the guide told us about the history ... Read the whole review

I've been in the Vorontsov Palace a couple of times and I want to tell you about it, about this beautiful decoration of the town of Alupka and the entire Southern coast of the Crimea.
The Vorontsov Palace is the place where the queue of those wishing to get inside is always built, except in addition to the winter season, when the flow of tourists is sharply reduced. The decoration of the palace begins to excite the eye even when you are just approaching the palace itself. At the steps leading to the entrance to this magnificent structure, you will be met by two huge stone ... Read the whole review
