History of Livadia
It is considered that the Greeks were among the first inhabitants of these wonderful places. This is confirmed by the pottery complex found by archeologists, where they made dishes, amphoras and ceramic tiles. At the end of the tenth century there was a Byzantine monastery of St. John. Since then, Ai-Yang-Su - "the source of St. John" has been preserved in its place.
Until the first third of the 19th century, these lands belonged to the Greeks, and it was only in 1834 that the Count Lev Pototsky, who was actively engaged in their improvement, acquired them. By his order, a manor house was built, a beautiful park was built, still delighting visitors with its splendor. Also, on the initiative of the Count Pototsky, a vineyard was laid in Livadia, and a little later - wine production was set up, a cellar was built for storage and aging.
After the Count's death in 1860, the estate was sold to the royal family, and then significantly expanded and changed: in a few years, about 60 buildings were built and rebuilt. However, until our time, not so many buildings of those times were preserved - many were destroyed during the German occupation. For 10 years after the end of the Great Patriotic War, the estate was restored and modernized.

Livadia Palace
Livadia Palace is a luxurious mansion with a long, interesting history, a famous monument of architecture and a pride of the inhabitants of the Crimea. Originally it was the house of Count Potocki, later called the Great Palace, then for the royal family was built the Small Palace for the Grand Dukes. But he existed, unfortunately, not for long: the Small Palace perished during the Second World War.

However, by the end of 1911 a new palace had been built in its place, built according to the project of Yalta architect Nikolai Petrovich Krasnov. The scale of the work was simply grandiose: over two and a half thousand workers worked day and night to build it on time. The outside walls were covered with snow-white Inkerman limestone and a special chemical composition protecting it from weathering and pollution. The Grand Palace acquired a new name and became the White.

Livadia Park, as well as the palace, began its history under Count Potocki. A magnificent park was built on an area of 40 hectares. To the natural forest were planted exotic orange, lemon trees, other plants and flowers from almost the whole planet. The park was decorated with vases, marble fountains and antique statues.
Today Livadia Park has about 400 species and garden forms of trees and shrubs. In the park there are elegant fountains, gazebos, marble benches, rose-pergolas, numerous flower beds and lawns. In the park begins Terrenkur - Solnechnaya (Tsarskaya) trail, the length of about 7 km.
Organ Hall
The Organ Hall is located near the Livadia Palace: it is equipped in the building of a former power plant built in the early 20th century .Over time, the building was dilapidated, and by the end of the 80s it was in a dilapidated state .In the course of a large-scale reconstruction, the destroyed parts were restored, the exterior appearance of the building was changed, the interior interior was changed, and a room was added from the northern part of the building to accommodate the body .And the organ created here in 1998 with more than 4600 pipes is the largest in the country .The length of the smallest of them is only a few millimeters, and the largest is about 6 meters .
