How to get to Machu Picchu from Lima?
Answer Julia Romanova, Tour Express
To get from Lima to Machu Picchu, you must first fly to the city of Cusco. There are many flights a day, the earliest is at 5:15 am. If time is short, you can fly this very first flight and be in Cuzco at 6:35 in the morning. This is if you need to get to Machu Picchu on the same day.
Next you need to go by public transport or taxi to the railway station "Poroy" in Cuzco or to the train station "Ollanta" in the Sacred Valley. From there, take the train to Aguas Calientes, go to the bus stop and take the bus another 15 minutes directly to the entrance to Machu Picchu. But this is quite tiring. It is better to spend the night in the Sacred Valley so that acclimatization is easier (since it is almost 1000 m below the city of Cusco) and the next day go to Machu Picchu.
