Lange Voorhout

Mauritshuis

Municipal Museum of The Hague
Haag, Stadhouderslaan, 41 Gemeentemuseum was founded in 1935 as a museum of contemporary art - not only artistic, but also decorative and applied. The museum occupies a building specially built for it in the style of art deco just off the city center. It includes the museum of photography.
Madurodam Park

Plaine Square in The Hague

City of the Royal Bloods
The main event in The Hague is the Royal Night, held from 29 to 30 April. This night the city does not sleep, there are concerts, the atmosphere of fun and joy is everywhere. The next morning, "Queen's Day" begins, when all dressed in orange go out for a walk. The Queen's visit to the parliament session in a golden coach accompanied by dressed guards is the peak of all the fun. The Queen's festival in The Hague is not accidental, because all ministries and departments, the parliament, the queen's residence, foreign embassies, as well as 150 international organizations are located here. All this gives The Hague a special gloss, which you immediately feel when you arrive in the city.
The center of the city and the political center of the country was the Binnenhof Castle, where the parliament sits and the Prime Minister's office is located. However, this is not the main thing, Binnekhorf is a unique architectural ensemble of the ancient palace, where the grand "Hall of the Knights" is located, from where the Queen annually ceremoniously opens the session of the Parliament. In general, the hall punishes chic and is an excellent example of Gothic architecture of the 13th century
In the Hague Forest is the residence of the Queen. Another Palace of the Queen - Noordeinde is used for official ceremonies, and in summer is open to tourists.
In the center of the city is the famous Moritzhaus Museum, built in the 17th century for Prince Johann Moritz of Nassau. Fans of painting will appreciate this place, because it is here that one of the best collections of Dutch painting of the Golden Age is located. The museums include portrait painters such as Anton van Dyck and Jacob van Kampen, and still-life artists Willem van Elst and Baltazar van der Ast, the genre scene Gerardt ter Borch, Peter de Hooch.
Fans of the thrill can visit the Gevangenport Museum or the Torture Museum in the gates of prisoners. Perhaps the most interesting here is the complicated case, which prompted A.Dyum to write the novel "Black Tulip."
City of Peacekeepers and Judges
There are offices of many international organizations in The Hague. One of the outstanding representatives is the Palace of Peace, built in two styles and founded in the middle of the 20th century. Initially, the palace hosted representatives of the UN. Today, here is the famous Hague court, where world problems are being solved. The very name of the place instructs to resolve problems in a peaceful and fair way.
