This currency comes from China. Imported to Japan, the "yuan" sounded in the Japanese mode as "en". Since 1830, the Japanese have launched the production of their own silver coins - yen.

The Japanese yen has been considered for several decades as the second most important reserve currency (accumulated by the central banks of countries in foreign exchange reserves as an investment asset and the way to determine currency parity), but recently the degree of use of the yen as a ruffian has decreased.

In circulation there are banknotes of 1000, 5000 and 10 000 yen of the series of 2004.
