How to get
The nearest airport is in Lamezia Terme, from the airport to Tropea you can reach the A3 motorway. When traveling by car, please drive via the A3 motorway, connecting the province of Salerno and Reggio Calabria, exit the motorway towards Pizzo, continue on SS 522 to Tropea.

Entertainment, excursions and attractions Tropea
In the old city there are many churches of different ages - a cathedral of the 12th century, the churches of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Mary, the Annunciation Church and others. In Tropea there are impressive palaces where valuable treasures are kept. For example, in the palace of Palazzo-Toraldo there are private collections represented by a collection of scrolls of the 12th-17th centuries, paintings from the 17th century, and Christian tombstones of the 3rd and 4th centuries. Visiting the museum is possible only by prior appointment, admission is free.
The Romanesque cathedral, executed in the best traditions of the Sicilian-Norman style, was erected in the 12th century on the site of the former Byzantine cemetery. The interior of the cathedral is notable for the 17th century Madonna della Liberta statue, made of Carrara marble, and the statue of Madonna del Popolo in 1555 by Giovanni Agnolo da Montorsoli, a pupil of Michelangelo.
The Annunciation Church, built on the orders of Charles V in 1535 during his stay in Tropea, was built on the site of the early Gothic sketes. In the interior of the church of interest is a marble sculptural composition with a picture of the Annunciation, a mural "Scourging of Christ" and a wooden crucifix of the 15th century. The Church of St. Mary, founded by Benedictine monks, rises on a high cliff surrounded by the sea, and presumably dates back to the 11th century.
In Tropea there is a diocesan museum, founded in 2004, whose collection is located in the rooms of the Episcopal Palace, located opposite the cathedral. The collection of the museum presents works of art owned by the local eparchy - a number of marble statues, including the statue of Saints Peter and Paul (16th century), as well as a triptych of Neapolitan masters depicting the Virgin Mary, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clara of Assisi. The museum is open from April to October: 09: 30-12: 30, 17: 00-20: 00, in July and August from 19:00 to 24:00.
