A cheerful bicycle ride through one of the most prestigious resorts of Versilia - Forte dei Marmi - to the "cultural shock", of course, will not pull, but to present a lot of surprises.

Forte dei Marmi, who appeared on the map of the Tuscan Versilia at 18 century as a major fort built by Leopold I of Tuscany, offers its tourists everything that is expected from an ideal, purely licked, glossy and "powdered" direction: namely, the crystal clear waters that have piled up the edge, the "stamped" luxury beaches and really cozy shady promenades. In short, the best conditions for walking a new swimsuit from "Dolce & Gabbana" or "Valentino."

Like any other town in the Italian province, Forte dei Marmi has its hidden charm, which the bicycle will be able to find. Let's explore several routes on two-wheeled friends to the heart of the city. So if you start from the nearby resort of Marina di Pietrasanta (as well as Fiumetto, Tonfano, Motrone or Focette), look for the Viale Morin (the Via Carducci street), heavily pedaling on which you find yourself on Via Nizza - a kind of border between Forte- dei Marmi and Pietrasanta

Exploring the secluded corners of Forte dei Marmi

If you just rented your bike in the heart of the resort, send it to forests strictly to Piazza Garibaldi (at which point, according to the plan, friends from Pietrasanto will just come to you) and enjoy the view of the Victory statue of the sculptor Arturo Dazzi, the marble fountain and the view of the port (the further exploration of the resort will begin with it). Then drive to the port - it will be straight on the course from Piazza Garibaldi - and then turn left and follow along the promenade past Piazza Marconi, then turn on Viale Morin to Via Nizza (1, 5-2 km).

  • From there already, enjoying the picturesque balconies and dodging fattened cats, look for a left turn on Via della Barbiera, which runs parallel to the coast. Continue famously wind up the pedals along Via della Barbiera (about 2 km) until you cross the intersection with traffic lights to a quiet street that runs along Via dell'Acqua. Continue on until you see Via Padre Ignazio da Carrara (still a good one and a half miles) where you have to make a difficult choice: turn left to go to the commercial center of Vittoria Apuana, the northern outskirts of Forte dei Marmi. Here you can enjoy the view of the majestic Cathedral of St. Francis with the statue of Francis of Assisi,
  • or to the right, to the former port area of Lago di Porta, which today is famous for its fresh nature, picturesque views and charming landscapes. Here is the Forte dei Marmi Golf Club

So you will walk almost the entire old town of Forte dei Marmi and see its most "reserved" places. But on this adventure, of course, does not end, but only begins ...
