What areas are included in Old Jerusalem?

The Old Jerusalem district consists of 4 quarters:

  • The Muslim Quarter is the largest and most populous quarter of Jerusalem
  • Christian Quarter. In the center of the quarter is the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
  • The Armenian Quarter is the smallest in the territory, with many churches, monasteries, museums.
  • Jewish Quarter. It is here that the Wailing Wall (Western Wall) is located and passes the Way of the Cross to Golgotha.

To the Old District of Jerusalem there are also 7 gates: New Gates, Damascus Gate, Herod's Gate, Lion's, Sion's Gates, Dung Gate, Jaffa , as well as the closed, oldest gates of Jerusalem - the Golden Gate.
