The history of Israel goes back to ancient times, at the time of the pharaohs, pagan cults and unceasing wars of conquest. It is believed that the first Hebrew tribes came from Egypt and appeared in the territory of modern Palestine around the 12th century BC. e. Having captured the territories belonging to the Canaanites, who at that time were one of the first urban-type civilizations, the tribes created the state.
The greatest Heyday of the Hebrew state reached under King David, the most famous ruler of Israel and the ancestor of a number of Jewish kings. It was thanks to him, Jerusalem, which played an important role before the arrival of the Jews in Canaan, became the capital. The son of David, Solomon, famous for his wisdom, in the 10th century BC. e. built the First Temple on the mountain, later destroyed and rebuilt in the form of the Second Temple, the remains of which, the Wailing Wall or the Western Wall can still be seen today.
After the death of Solomon, the kingdom was divided into two parts. A long period of devastating wars began, which led to the resettlement of Jews across the territories of different countries. The modern history of Israel is connected with the second half of the 19th century. It was then that the idea of creating a Jewish state arose, which was implemented only after the end of World War II. In 1948, the State of Israel was proclaimed on part of the territory of Palestine
