Religion
When talking about India's contribution to the development of the culture of all mankind, the first thing to remember is the Indian religion. And really everything that can be thought up about a person, his place in the world and relations with higher forces has already been invented by the Hindus two or three thousand years ago.
Everybody knows about Buddhism (at least for Hollywood movies and figurines sold in esoteric stalls), but they do not exhaust the spiritual and philosophical search of the Hindus.
For example, Hinduism is the oldest religion of the world. To worship the chief god, Brahman, one can choose any of its manifestations: Shiva, Vishnu or Krishna. The Supreme God can, at his own discretion, take the form of a man or a woman. And for Hindu gods to communicate with their audience - they are embodied in the form of a physical body - avatar. Yoga for a Hindu is not a physical exercise for weight loss - but one of the main religious practices.
Or Jainism - a rather rigid ascetic system, the main thing in which the principle of ahimsa: do no harm to any living creature .Naturally, the Jainists do not eat the meat of our smaller brothers - animals .In addition, the most advanced adherents move, clearing the road with a broom, so as not to accidentally step on any ant, and also tie the mouth with a special bandage so as not to swallow an accidentally small but living creature .Despite the apparent exoticism of Jainism, today this religion has more than 5 million followers .
The science
It's funny, but the fact, the numbers that we call Arab, Arabs in their turn are called Indian. It was the Indians who invented to write more sums in a compact form (which is not surprising, the country is big - and millions do not surprise anyone in India). Already from the time of the Harappan civilization (three thousand years before the new era), Indians were cheerfully considered dozens, and in the fourth century of our era they came up with a zero.
Apparently a good base of Indian and philosophy and religion allowed to invent a designation for something that does not exist. The missing objects and phenomena were called "shunya" and were indicated by a circle. Practically all the mathematics we go through at school: square and cubic roots, linear and quadratic equations, percentages - all this was invented by ancient Hindus.
As for chemistry, the Indians made metals, glass, dyes, perfume compositions, poisons and even artificial precious stones. Substances, according to the Indians, consisted of atoms - "anu."
Indians have treated many diseases since ancient times, performed surgical operations (as well as plastic surgeries), knew the anatomy and physiology in detail, measured the pulse and temperature, treated with diets and medications, and practiced psychological and psychiatric care for patients. The science of health, longevity and beauty - Ayurveda - was born in India.
Literature
In multinational India there are 22 literary languages, and all of them are written books .Indian literature began with the "Vedas" - recorded in the second millennium before the new era of sacred hymns and divine revelations .Until now, scientists and esotericists, armed with loops, are studying every line of sacred texts - and are finding more and more new manifestations of wisdom .A little later, there were full encyclopedias of the ancient Indian life "Ramayana" and "Mahabharata" ."Ramayana" tells the fascinating story of Rama, in which the ten-headed leader of the demon-eater Ravan abducts his wife .Until now, in cities and towns of India, you can meet local akyns who are able to read "Ramayana" by heart all day long, by heart .
"Mahabharata" is more a collection of legends, fables, parables and reasonings than a story story. It is believed that the Mahabharata speaks about everything in the world, and any subject, idea or emotion that ever existed is imprinted on its pages. However, this is not surprising - there are 150 thousand lines in the book.
And India gave Indian man dances, chess, Indian cuisine, spices and Bollywood movies.
