How to get here
Balatonfured is located 130 km south-west of Budapest, 50 km from Tapolca and 20 km south of Veszprem. Through the city there are railways and roads running along the entire northern shore of the lake right up to Keszthely, connecting the resort with Veszprém, Budapest and other Hungarian cities. The journey time by train to Budapest is 2, 5-3 hours.
In Balatonfured there is a pier where both pleasure boats and ferries are moored, performing regular voyages along the lake.

Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Balatonfüred
A lot of vacationers like to stroll along the wide avenue of Rabindranath Tagore, an Indian poet who was treated here in the early 20th century. On the alley are also sculptures and memorial plaques in honor of the famous holiday-makers.
Almost all the houses of the Old Town are protected as architectural monuments (baroque, classics). Ancient mansions and villas, numerous sculptures in parks and an abundance of flowers - a kind of business card of this city. The house of the Croatian family in the style of the late Baroque (18th century), located on Dyod's Square, and the villa of Louise Blaha, the famous Hungarian singer and actress who lived here from 1893 to 1916, are noteworthy. Every year in May in Balatonfüred, the "capital of the Hungarian Sea", the opening season of sailing boat competitions is held, and in the middle of summer the "Ball of Anna" is arranged.
