How to get to Piraeus
Buses No. 40 and No. 49 run between central Athens and Piraeus (the fare is 0.5 euros) 24 hours a day. Bus number X96 performs regular routes between Piraeus and Athens airport (cost 3.2 EUR, travel time 90 minutes). The airport can also be reached by metro (6 euros). Cruise liners from all the islands of the Aegean Sea (excluding Sporades and some of the smaller islands Cyclades and Dodecanese where transplantation is required) and the Eastern Mediterranean are all year round at the port of Piraeus.

Climate
The climate is Mediterranean with lots of sunny days throughout the year. Rains are most likely between November and April due to Piraeus's close proximity to Mount Parnita.

Cafes and shops are located along the harbor, near the cruise terminal, as well as near the metro. The central avenues of Piraeus - Iroon Polytechneiou and Grigoriou Labraki are considered major shopping areas.

Entertainment, excursions and attractions Piraeus
Among the archaeological sites of Piraeus, the ancient gate of the port and part of the fortifications built during the Peloponnesian War are remarkable, preserved in good condition to our time. The ruins of the ancient city, located in the basement of the cathedral Agia Triada and the ancient theater Zea next to the archaeological museum. In the archaeological museum, an extensive collection of antique artifacts was found during excavations in Piraeus, mainly in the embankment area.
