Erfurt, located just 40 km from the geographical center of Germany, is the capital of the state of Thuringia.

The bombing of the Second World War left its mark on the general appearance of the city, but its many pearls, such as the Erfurt Cathedral and Severikirche, winding streets, the restored Old Town and one of the most interesting bridges in Europe, attracted spectators from all over the world.

Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Erfurt

The Erfurt Cathedral and the Church of Severikirche form a beautiful architectural composition and are symbols of the city.

An integral part of the urban landscape is the Kremerbrücke bridge of 1325 crossing the Gera River. On the bridge there are 32 residential buildings, and on each bridgehead bridge there is a church, one of which, Egidenkirche, is still functioning.

In the old Augustinian monastery Augustinerklooster, Martin Luther lived during his studies at the university. The city is one of the oldest synagogues in Europe, built in the 11th century - now a museum of treasures.
