By the end of 2016, all French trains and stations are planned to be equipped with free Internet. In addition, passengers will have the opportunity to 100% use the mobile services of the railways and learn the online timetable and purchase tickets.
It is expected that the country's railway networks will be connected to the Internet by the end of summer 2016. This was reported by the head of the National Society of Railways of France Guillaume Peli. 3G and 4G networks will appear on all trains and will reach nearly 10 million users daily.
Currently, the organization has announced a tender for mobile operators to service high-speed trains, which are used daily by about 300 thousand passengers.
