Grocery stores in Prague during the New Year holidays work normally: on weekdays from 6:00 until 18:00, on Saturdays from 7:00 to 12:00. Stores of manufactured goods are open on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00, on Saturday until 13:00. Most stores except large supermarkets are closed on Sundays. Large supermarkets and department stores are open all week from 18:00 to 20:00, some to 22:00. Weekends are on the 25th and 26th of December. Almost all the shops will be closed on Christmas Eve (December 24), or they will close before usual.

Cafes, restaurants, bars of Prague work every day from 7 or from 9 am to 22 or 23 pm, without days off. However, on December 25 and 26 most establishments will be closed. On New Year's Eve, the opening hours will last almost until the morning of January 1. At New Year's Eve dinner in restaurants in Prague, it's just not possible to get there, especially for institutions with windows overlooking Wenceslas and Old Town Square - you need to register in advance.
