What is the national currency in the Czech Republic?

Responsible information department of "Tourism subtleties"
National currency of Czech Republic - Czech koruna (Kč or CZK). It is still the main currency of the country, despite the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union. The currency is very stable. Currently, 1 CZK is equal to 1, 62 rubles, about 5 cents (100 CZK is $ 4, 97) or 4 euro cents (100 CZK is equal to € 3, 68)

Now there are bills of 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 kroons and coins for 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 kroons. Previously, also used small coins - hellers. 100 hellers were equal to one crown. Now they are very rare. in fact, were withdrawn from circulation in 2008.

As for another currency, in the Czech Republic, as in any EU country, you can pay EUR. Dollars in you can only take in tourist areas and even exclusively local "second-hand dealers". It is best to conduct money transactions in kroons, then you will not lose money.

It is not worth exchanging Russian rubles for kroons, or, even more, buying crowns in advance in Russia. It is better to buy EUR and exchange them in the Czech Republic for local currency. For exchange you can use automatic exchangers (do not be afraid, they will not be deceived) or go to any exchange point, to the bank. And do not give in to the temptation to exchange money at a very pleasant exchange rate with the first counter - most often these are scammers who, instead of CZK, will be sold to you by Bulgarian Levs with a face value of 2000 BGN (this note is very similar to the Czech one, but it will cost only 120 kroons).
