What is the currency in Croatia?

Responsible information department of "Tourism Thinness"
Croatian national currency - kuna, equal to 100 lip. The word "Kuna" means marten, because earlier Croats used marten skins as currency units. "Lipa" translates as a linden tree

International code of kuna in the system ISO 4217 - HRK. The average rate of the kuna is 1 HRK ~ 5 rubles

When going to Croatia, it is preferable to take EUR with you, in second place - American dollars. The advantage of EUR is that in many places they are unofficially accepted for payment on an equal basis with the national currency.

You can change the currency at the bank or exchange offices. You can also make a change of money at the hotel, but the rate in them is very unprofitable. Tourist checks are accepted only in the central branches of banks (and even then not all) and change only to the kuna. In major resort centers in Croatia, you can pay for cards of such popular systems as Eurocard, MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express and Visa. In the countryside and on the islands, it is better to have a cash reserve to pay for services.

Do not forget to spend the kuna or exchange it for the euro before you leave - in Russia it will be difficult.
