The capital of China, Beijing, was the first city in which the underground appeared. Its first station was opened on October 1, 1969, and already 2 years later this mode of transport became one of the most popular among passengers. By now, the metro has 172 stations spread over 14 lines. The names of the stops are announced in Chinese and English. The sign signifying descent in the metro reminds the white Latin letter G, inside of which D is inscribed, against a blue background.
The metro operates from 5.00 to 24.00, the journey costs 2 yuan (about 10 rubles). Any adult passenger can spend free of charge through the turnstiles to a child less than 120 cm tall. Tickets must be kept until the exit from the metro. There is an opportunity to purchase single cards for travel by all types of public transport.
The prices are democratic, but there is one special. This is the "Line to the airport" (Airport Line), for which you need to buy special tickets for 25 yuan (about 125 rubles) .Airport Express carries tourists on the route Dongzhimen-Sanyuanqiao-Terminal 3-Terminal 2 and can be transferred to it from lines 2, 10, 13.
