Where in Vienna do I rent a bicycle?

Responds to Anastasia Serebryakova, ClickVoyage
I suggest using one of the ways: 1. A network of bike rentals throughout Vienna - Citybike

The bicycle rental system is as follows:

  • you come to one of the bike rental locations (the instruction in the heading - Standard hire)
  • with the help of a bank card, you take the bike.

The most convenient way is to register on the Citybike website or directly at the terminal near the rental with a bank card, suit the Visa Classic or Master Card. This service is chargeable and will be about EUR 1.

You can return the bicycle in Vienna at any bike park (these items are around 90 in the city, they are all close to the metro). Please pay attention, after you fastened the bicycle, a green light should light up. Only then it is considered that the bike is delivered. The maximum duration of a walk should not exceed five days (120 hours), if you do not return after this time, your card will be fined 600 EUR (this amount is initially blocked). The most resourceful tourists immediately agree that you can even use the bike for free. To do this, it is enough to return it to the parking lot for an hour

2. Bicycle rental Pedal Power. Here, not only can you rent a bicycle, but also for a certain amount of bicycle tours in English.

The scheme for renting a bicycle is very simple:

  • come to the office of Pedal Power: Ausstellungsstrasse 3, 1020 Wien, telephone: 0043 1 7297234
  • give your credit card (only number is written off)
  • payment occurs after the fact.

A list of traditional bicycle rental locations can be found on the Vienna Magistrate's website.

If you intend to ride a bicycle within the city limits, I advise you to use the services of Citybike. In this case, bicycles can be taken to any of Citybike's 100 bicycle stations and returned to the one closest to your destination.

Most of the points of hire are near the metro stations. During the first hour, the use of the bicycle is free, the second hour costs 2 EUR, from 3 to 120 hours - 4 EUR per hour. Payment and registration is carried out by means of a credit card or Citybike Tourist Card. For more information about the service, a map of the city with Citybike stations, up-to-date information on the availability of bicycles / vacancies and conditions of registration, please visit the Citybike website.
