Opened in 1991 in the third district of Vienna, the House of Arts (website) itself is an example of the celebration of its founder. With its curved lines, uneven floors, mottled mosaics and lush landscaping, the building shows the typical Hundertwasser style.
In the house decorated by Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000) the museum with the same name is located - the only permanent exhibition of master's works in the world. In addition to it, international temporary exhibitions are also regularly held here. Nearby is the Hundertwasser House designed by the artist, a residential building run by the Vienna Municipality, which, however, can only be viewed from outside (1030 Wien, Kegelgasse 34-38).
The exhibition "In the world of the Hundertwasser" Vienna House of Art on the occasion of its 20th anniversary honors the very artist who determined the philosophy and spiritual foundations of this institution. According to the idea of the creators, the exhibition is a thematically associative way to the world of ideas and the artistic space of Friedensreich Hundertwasser and demonstrates important milestones of his creative biography.
A separate part of the exhibition tries to trace the way of Hundertwasser from art to ecology and his activity in this sphere. The exhibition is a temporary addition to the "Museum of the Hundertwasser"; It is best to combine visits to both exposures.
The combined ticket for both Hundertwasser exhibitions costs 12 EUR, the annual ticket is 20 EUR.
