Water Park in Vienna
The historic water tower in Viennese Favoriten district is now surrounded by a new water cognitive park. It is located on an area of 15 000 square meters and offers not only to relax and have fun on local attractions, but also to learn a lot of interesting information about the water.

An exploratory waterway shows visitors to the park how the big city of Vienna is provided with drinking water: two high-water source waterways deliver the life-giving water from the mountains for a distance of about 330 kilometers without pumps directly to Vienna. The management of the park took care of the ennobling of the territory: trees were planted, waterfalls, ponds, streams and bridges were built. In addition to them there are playgrounds on water and, of course, drinking fountains.

Young visitors of the park can independently experiment with water in specially designated areas.

The historical water tower, around which a new water cognitive park is located, is a characteristic building of industrial historicism. It was built in 1898/99 and before the construction of the high-water source water supply, the high-lying parts of the city districts provided drinking water. The building with its brightly colored roofing tiles was repaired in the 1990s and used for exhibitions and other cultural events.
