Skating areas

The skiing areas of Obertauern are located on two sides of the valley, in the center of which along the road the village itself is stretched - so that almost all the time you can ride on the sunny side. The resort has five ski schools and snowboard schools. Having mastered the basics of standing on the board, snowboarders can try their hand at the local fan-park and half-pipe.

Trails Obertauern

There is no habitual marking of the trails at the resort - they are not numbered, only hoists are indicated by numbers. The directions of circular routes are also marked: clockwise (length of 10 km: 2 km of complex, 5 - medium and 3 - light) and counterclockwise (length 12 km: 10 km average, 2 km of lungs). Almost all the routes - with a variety of relief, and the "blue" differ from the "red" only by the slope. Almost all the "black" tracks in Obertauern - for fans of the hillocks, and hard, but virgin slopes - above all praise.

The upper sections of the Gamsleiten road (Gamleitenbahn) with complex hilly slopes can only be advised by well-trained skiers and "pros". The best option for fans of "variant descents" is a walking route from Mount Seekarak (Seekareck, 2217 m). Slopes in the eastern part of the ski area and north of the main road will suit beginners. In the upper part of the slopes for skiers with little experience, only the route under the six-seat chair lift Schidebergbahn is suitable.
